I love being a Mom, but sometimes it is nice to just take a break. You know, to get some “Mommy Time” in… After a lovely Spring Break (I’m an Adjunct Professor), classes resumed and two days into my work week, I had already reached the I-need-a-break point. It was with great anticipation that I looked forward to the 8pm moment that both children would be in bed and I would be able to take a long warm shower to wash away the day that had started at 5:30am and had continued non-stop from that moment on. And what better way than to treat myself to a nice body scrub, leaving my skin soft and smooth and my soul happy? Scrubs (to me) are always a luxury treatment. The ones I really like are too expensive for regular use, so it was time to invent one that wouldn’t leave me with the I-just-washed-$25-down-the-drain feeling.
Both the brown sugar and oatmeal exfoliate, while the oatmeal also soothes the skin. The coconut oil moisturizes the skin, leaving it soft and silky. (The scrub smells so good, you’ll want to take a spoon and start eating it. Resist the temptation.)
Soon, my Pamperosity wesbsite will be up and running, but until then, you can order this scrub by simply dropping me an email or by contacting me through Facebook.

My name is Marieke. I live in Los Angeles with my 5 boys: my husband, 2 toddler boys and 2 Australian Shepherds. The cat feels she’s the Queen, but she’s got delusions of grandeur. The kitchen is my haven and the occasional glass of “Mommy Juice” keeps me sane in the midst of all the testosterone around here.
I just bought ingredients and jars to make scrubs for mother’s day! I love homemade scrubs! It’s amazing what a few things from the kitchen can do for your skin. I never tried oatmeal, I will now!
That’s wonderful! And how wonderful that you have everything in the house already. Yes, it would make for great gifts! Very personal and compared to store brought scrubs so much more affordable. Happy Scrubbing!
This sounds heavenly! And Trader Joe’s had some inexpensive jars of coconut oil the other day… I think I need to go back for a few!
How convenient!! Enjoy it, one certainly cannot pamper oneself enough.
What a great idea! Would steel cut oatmeal work? I have to try this out.
Jadah,
Yes, that would absolutely work. Have fun and enjoy.

LOL! Not sure if I want to know how that works out though…
I am looking for this fabulous sounding body scrub!! Can’t wait to try it and gift it!
