Toddler “Man Cave”

I believe that every man loves the idea of a “Man Cave”.  And while for many the desire to have a room dedicated (and to be used only by) the man of the house is not communicated until they find themselves in a relationship, I strongly believe that the “Man Cave Gene” is  a gene that every baby boy is born with.  And it is pre-programmed to activate somewhere around toddlerhood.

Though a far stretch from the “Man Cave” as we know it, both Kai and Ryder are obsessed with hiding in tents.  They call it their “cave”, I call it their Toddler “Man Cave”.  David and I are continuously requested to assist in the construction of such Cave, but once the structure is complete,  Admission is By Invitation Only.  (And I am left with a cushion deficit for my outdoor patio set.)

For as far as I have been able to tell, they have picnics with copious amounts of food in there, they are safe from dragons, play the drum and apparently the Toddler “Man Cave” also contains a racetrack and space station.  Just so you know.  Oh, and of course there is room for my two little “cave men”.

Yes, their own little space.  Cute and wonderful while they fit.  As they grow, so will their cave, until they’re big enough for their own * real* Man Cave.  Until then, I will find a way to cover up the sofa on the patio.

Until next time,

Savor Food, savor family, savor life.
